FEATURED ARTISTS

Throughout the summer months we "showcase" several of our local artists.  A designated area in the gallery is set aside to display their original works of art.  The public is welcome to attend opening receptions, enjoy the art and meet the artist.

Eileen is a retired Banker who continues to work with figures.  The figures she works with now are created with water, instead of ink.

Her success with watercolor proves you don’t need a formal art education in order to have fun.  Since retirement in 2005, Eileen has spent winter months in Mount Dora, Florida.  She takes classes at the Mount Dora Center for the Arts with Jackie Molsick. She’s studied the art of water color with Lynn Ferris, AWS.NWS, Don Getz AWS NWS, Tom Jones, Janet Rogers, AWS, and Jane Slivka.

While at home in Henderson Harbor, NY she has the advantage of living on the lake. The beautiful colors of the season changes inspire her beach and boat paintings.

A true multi-tasker, Eileen finds water coloring to be a relaxing way to spend some time away from it all.

She plans to teach beginning water color during the summer of 2013 and welcomes all to join her in a weekly open studio at the AANNY Center in Sackets Harbor .

William Christopherson has been a recognized landscape artist in the North Country for many years, having received award recognition at many NYS juried art shows, including the Central Adirondack Show, Old Forge;  the Along The Rivers Edge Art Show, Clayton;  and the annual Sackets Harbor Spring Art Show.  His passion for painting landscapes and seascapes was nurtured during  his college years at SUNY ESF School of Landscape Architecture, Syracuse,  in the 1970’s. His artwork interest followed him during a 30 year career with the  NY State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, and he retired in 2008 to devote more time to his artwork pursuits.  He paints in mediums of watercolor, acrylic, and oils, in impressionistic style,  and is an avid outdoor “plein air” painter. Bill was commissioned this year by NYSOPRHP to complete a series of watercolor artworks for the grand opening of the newly restored Rock Island Lighthouse in the Thousand Islands, which will open to the public in June, 2013.

Bill is a participating artist of the 2013 Thousand Islands Studio Tour. His artworks also evolve from his travels, which include the coasts of Florida, Maine, and the Adirondack Mountains. Many of his artworks are available for viewing on-line at Christopherson Studio,  http://christophersonart.net. In 2009, he was invited as a Premier Portfolio Artist for  Absoluteart.com, one of the largest on-line art galleries in the US at  http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/n/northc/
